So, I can not begin to tell about how completely excited I am for the research essay. Our class got to pick our own topics, relating to Hamlet, and I picked "the representation and interpretation of women in Hamlet, and how it differs from other Shakespearean plays, and why." It sounds so well thought out because I've so animately been telling everyone who showed the hintiest interest in knowing about the project.
So now, I'm buckling down to read Antony and Cleopatra, Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, and Taming of the Shrew. X3 It's gonna be totally delicious.
Thoughts on Shakespeare's women? Was he a misogynist or a feminist? Are his female characters a political statement or just a tool to make a dramatical-er play? I like Shakespeare; I'm pretty certain he liked us too. ^_^
